Digital Divide/Digital Inequality

Here is the pdf to my Digital Divide Haiku Deck: Digital Divide.

Here is the link to my public presentation: https://www.haikudeck.com/p/TKigUUQB1W/digital-dividedigital-inequality

While creating this artifact, I learned to keep the slides simple.  If there is enough information on the slide, then there is not point of a presenter.

This project made me aware of how the digital divide is impacting my county and school.  I see that even though there is so much technology available at my school, there is only a small number of teachers actually using it for engaging lesson design.

I plan to make the teachers at my school aware of how important it is to address the digital divide.  Many teachers are afraid to change their lessons and integrate technology into their classrooms.  I will encourage teachers to attend the Tech ‘n 20 sessions that are provided by our Technology Facilitator in the building.  I will also collaborate with colleagues and demonstrate how I use technology in my classroom.  I am hoping that I will motivate my colleagues to have the desire to put in the time and effort.

If I had more time, I would play around with Haiku Deck and learn more about the features.  I felt that I was very limited in the design.  It was a little better once I figured out how to insert the pictures for the background.  It made it easier being able to search for images inside of Haiku Deck.  If I had more time, I would find better pictures from the web that didn’t have as much noise in them and did not take away from the message.
